Seriously though, the bigger and more popular a site becomes the more you see rubbish like that
 
Depends on the scam. I doubt they get huge amounts of business from all the spamming, but it doesn't cost them much in time, effort, or money.
 
We should be able to get this sorted with the next update of vbulletin. Once that's been implemented, people will be asked questions only humans can answer in order to register.

tbh we should just block the ip ranges for the countries that do this sh*t.
 
Looks like we have a happy little spam bot on now. Just saw it spam 7 topics (and counting). Hope it calms down, I was getting excited about early morning posts.

Reported one of its posts, but all his posts are ads for something i don't even have the font for.

Edit: It seems to have given up at 20 meaningless posts. How gentlemanly...
