I believe the 702 is just an updated model with a slightly less cold sound. Tbh I don't think there's a lot in it. AS for the Q701 I didn't look that one up

Don't buy logitech cans for an STX ;)

i thought you might say that
some of the other headphones i have been looking at are way to expensive
i mean some of them have been in the £250-500 mark and that is silly money

but i just seen the sennheiser hd 900 retail for about £1500 owwch that's some amount on money lol

but yeah i will have my asus xonar essence stx sound card next week and hopefully have the money by January as im trying to sell my corsair 750 case and a h100i just hope i can sell them to help towards my headphones lol

there is so meany types of akg's tho
there is the k701/q701 then the k702 and the k702 65th anniversary ones jeeez how can you choose

so far it seems like the k702' are going to be slightly better for overall sound than the 701' tho
the anniversary ones are some what more expensive i think it was like another £100 on top of the 702's not worth it to me anyways

I wouldn't bother with the anniversary set, just get the standard 702's matey

yeah thought it might be a better choice i think its a marketing gimmick just to charge you more lol

so is there a way to set the sound up for reference listening or is it just set it up for your own pleasure

im used to using on board sound with cheapish headphones

this is sort of a gigantic leap for me lol

OK guys I have now ordered both the
Asus xonor essence stx sound card
Akg 702 reference headphones

I just can't wait now
I will report back after I have had them a while and let you all know what I think
