Im after purchasing a decent camera for close up product shots.

It needs to give good macro shots and good detail.

It needs to be able to do night time shots of UV products as well.

its needs to be simple to use.

i dont care if it does 200 billion pixels and produces a picture that i can put on the side of a sky scraper !!!! as the pictures are for my web site.

Any one got any ideas oh and i dont want any thing over £200 neither lol.

Ive got a Lighting tent and some lights on there way !!!

oh what the hell is SLR some camera junkie said i should have one in a shop and he confused the hell out of me with to much bull.

How much wonga u got to spend dude?

slr can't remember what it stands for, is just a type of camera, the majority of people that use it want professional photos but they can be quite expensive, not sure what you can get for 200 quid when it comes to them lol so if you want a good pic slr's are meant to be the best

If its Macros, and INSANE macros at that then you DO NOT want a DSLR you just need a reasonable digital cam.

Macros on dslr's will melt your brain and your bank ballence.

Mayhem ping me on MSN, I may be able to help you out with a good macro point and shoot cam.

Just been told i need a Manuel focus for glow in the dark shots from a pro forum. As the light will reflect off the glass and it will never auto focus properly.

tom mate can that cam you got do that (Manuel focus)

I actually work at a professional lab and camera shop here in the states. The macro mode found on a lot of the point and shoots is actually pretty darn good. You're going to invest way more money than you want to if you tried to go the DSLR route. Granted you can use a kit lens with a screw on 10x macro lens, the quality won't actually be as good as the point and shoots that have a macro mode and the ability to focus at very close distances. Good macro lenses for SLR's start at about $300 (in addition to the cost of the camera body).

I'd suggest the Canon G11 as a very versatile all-around point and shoot camera that takes amazing macro's.

Took this one a few days ago with a 50mm f1.8 lens in the back yard after a rain shower....

G11 isn't a "toy" camera, it's made for serious photographers that either don't have the space or budget for a dSLR.

Guys yes i need a macro mode but i dont think your listening as this need to be done in the dark, with a UV lamp , and UV reactive matter that reflects light.

You are just going to have to play with the settings on the cams dude, no one makes a UV mode
