too many shrooms
right ok so a friend of mine wanted a pc specing up and building, and i offered my services in this endeavor. on a side note i'm really bad at build logs so excuse this monstrosity hahaha
the specs are as so:
Ryzen 1400
Asrock B350 k4 gaming
Coolermaster pro 4
Coolermaster TX3 Evo
16GB Crucial Balistix Sport 2400mhz
Corsair CX450m
WD Caviar blue
Powercolour Red Devil RX570 4GB
Bitfenix Neos
Corsair AF120 LED red Quiet edition
well the case...i went with the Bitfenix Neos as it wasn't too child like, and it was very cheaply priced. thought i was on to a winner with it with it being a Bitfenix case, well i shouldn't of got my hopes up its nothing flash i didn't expect it to be at £30 odd quid, but it really did feel very bodged together and not very well thought out. other peoples miles may vary with it, myself i certainly wont be using it for a build again.
oh well its not going to be my daily rig. anyway onto the fans, Corsair AF120 LED quiet edition (silence is golden after all, although this was never going to meet that standard), and fitted with some spare rubber grommets that i had lay about.
drive cases are nothing special but they serve there purpose
the motherboard was a delight to work with however, i have only every used one other Asrock board before. the styling isn't quite my taste but heyho, the bios was solid and easy to use and there isn't too much RGB.
the Crucial RAM wasn't quite the colour i could of hoped for, but at least it was a neutral colour, and with 16GB of it at the price i got it for you really cannot argue at all.
so i went with the Ryzen 1400 due to its price, compared to intel for the performance you get really cannot be argued with, and i really wanted to see how the platform fared up myself. well i wasn't disappointed AMD have done a cracking job with Ryzen, and this felt like the little CPU that could its good to see them back in the game.
so i got to it whipping out my usual go to gear in the way of ArtiClean thermal remover and purifier, a couple of coffee filters and some Noctua NT-H1 and bish bash bosh
the RAM doesn't actually look too bad or out of place, well at least not to the extent that i thought it was going to.
this is where my build log skills went to pot, as i made a rookie mistake and didn't check clearances with the case and aircooler ( as the specs list would suggest, sir lickalot here c*cked up), and ended up having to order another cooler the Coolermaster TX3 Evo. anyway i forgot to log the rest of the build like an idiot due to this so apologies, here are two shots of the end result anyway.
i was very lucky with the RAM, it XMP'ed like a Boss and gave me no hassle whatsoever, and with a conservative overclock to 3.5Ghz on the CPU i was done.
sort of anticlimactic that wasn't it, oh well i at least hope you enjoyed my ramblings if nothing else.
