What Wheel for Driving Games

Hello Peeps. Im looking for a wheel/pedal combo to hook up to my rig for racing , be it arcade or simulation. I seemed to have managed with just a controller for years but the time has come for me to treat myself to a half decent Wheel. My problem is cashflow and my budget will only allow me to look at Models around the £150 price bracket. Any suggestions and feedback from you guys would be awesome. :) my only criteria is that the wheel is clamped rather than using suction pads.

logitech g29, usually can get em for £160 ish but the price is a bit all over the place at the mo, just wait until it come on deal.

I have a G29 and for the price I can't complain. It will do me until I have a proper rig and deeper pockets!

2 Year warranty - the earlier models had some issues with the cable routing (cables would be sheared off internally) but they seem to have fixed that now. If you buy second hand make sure all the buttons work and that they only work when you press them.

The only thing that could be a deal breaker depending on your PC is that they do not work on USB3. I have to use an internal USB 2.0 header and an adapter and my mobo is not new. It's a Z77 so five years old. You could use an add in card but they're becoming harder to source (they all seem to be usb3 now) plus they mess with your internals Feng Shui.

Thanks Guys for your input. i have a MSI Z97 Gaming 3 Mobo which has both usb 2 and 3 on the i/o, ( this didnt even cross my mind ) . ive heard good things about the G29 as well so thanks for that endorsment. Hmm The G920. thanks for that suggestion as well.I dont mind buying used so long as it has a month or two warranty so any probs encountered can be resolved. :) . i might visit my local CEX and have a looksy. :)

I think the G920 and G29 are the same internally the G29 has a few more buttons than the G920, before going to cex look around for prices I've seen them charging more for stuff than what they cost new

I'm shocked that you guys aren't deliberately misleading Bonkers just so he'll lose his place atop the leaderboard in your races. ;)

yeah the g29 and g920 are the same just ones for ps4 and ones for xbox but both obviously work on pc, I have a ps4 so would go for g29, but i think the g920 looks better being all black.
