OK so im currently looking at all the websites and all i'm seeing is smart tv bla bla. Same old 400-500 pound TV's and I havent got a clue what to go for.

What will I be doing with it...

It's mainly for the family. I'll only be hooking it up to a PC when I want to watch the Footy or game in 3d once in a while. The family will mainly be watching a lot of films, soaps and wildlife documentaries and what not. We've been wanting to watch a bit of David Attinborough in 1080 for a while.

This is what I'm looking for...

The best quality picture. I mean I love superb imagery, don't we all.
Multiple HDMI options, at least 3.
A slick, slim design. No metal stands please. And an all black crisp feel.
3d would be a great advantage.

Pricing anything under £500

Help me guys, would really appreciate it.

From what I've heard Samsung are the best TVs atm. For 3d you need to pick one from their 6000 series (or above), they should have 3 HDMI ports, imo they look very nice, but they do have a metal stand (which TV doesn't?) With that budget you are limited to about a 40'' LED 3d tv.

Sorry dude, by metal stands I meant a metal finish. What I want is painted metal. :)

These are what I meant by metal stand...

HATE them lol

You're right these stands look aweful, imo samsungs are much nicer and the newer 6000 models have a black or at least very dark metal finish

I have a panasonic smart T.V. It has 4 HDMI ports, two USB, an ethernet and a few others I can't remember off the top of my head. It's 42", but it cost £600, so I guess it's over budget :/. I don't know the exact model name, but I can quickly find out for you if you want? Also as far as I can see the stand is not metal and it certainly doesn't look as awful as the stands above.

I have one of the Samsungs from last year in my bedroom, the UE40D6500 I think, I would definitely recommend Samsung for your price point, some of the 2012 models are really quite good, but last years models are quite good too, so if you want a bigger size screen, try looking at last years models :)
