It honestly depends on how often you run out of RAM.
If you don't do intensive work-critical stuff I'd set it to a max size say of 2GB, that would be plenty. If you do do work critical stuff then let Windows manage it as you don't want to potentially lose data because there were no pages left, not common but can happen.

People may say you shouldn't have a page file on an SSD but it's an outdated opinion. Today's SSDs can handle the volume of page file writes and they are actually very good at supporting a page file compared to a HDD. I'd recommend keeping the page file on your OS drive.

Just to clarify after reading back my post. I only recommended to limit the size because it sounded like you were trying to keep the memory footprint down to maximise the space you have. For optimum performance I'd always recommend letting Windows manage it how it wants or set a reasonable max size, generally people recommend 1x - 1.5x the size of your RAM.

yes i would like to keep the page file as small as possible to maximise ssd space. i mostly game on a single 2560 x 1440p monitor but use a 2nd 1080p monitor to display cam and or afterburner telemetries along with various open chrome tabs as well as wassap, messenger and discord running in the background.
I will at some point get a large HDD for storage and a 2nd SSD for more games. :)

i just noticed my cpu-z validator is out of date. will update shortly.

cpu-z validator updated and im going to set page file to 2048 min 2048 max custom size and see how the rig gets on with that. :)
