What Should I Get?

I'm in a little dilemma. I don't know what to go for. Should I either go for a new graphics card or a new case? I currently have a 5870 and an HAF 922. The 5870 isn't quite holding up any more and my HAF 922 is noisy, and a dust magnet and the cable management isn't quite good in it. Don't get me wrong, my cable management looks very good if I may say so my self, but you can see the cables wrapping around the motherboard tray.

I was either thinking of getting a GTX 570 or a GTX 580. Or if I go for a new case I was either thinking of a Lian Li X900B or a Corsair 800D. Both of them are excellent for water cooling. If I'd go for the 800D I was thinking I'd switch all the fans out for Noctua fans and add three fans on top for extra intake since the case got awful air cooling.

What do you guys think I should get? I'm not sure if this is posted in the right sub forum, but I felt that off topic wasn't right either. Another thing is that I will get a £100 discount no matter what I buy.

i would get a new case, but thats because i don`t like the haf series. maybe you can get a new case, and a 560, for the time. till you get the money to replace it with the card you like. 560 it´s just awesome, and if you don`t believe me, just see tom`s review, and you will want to have one.

New GPU IMHO al tho i am a little bit biased as i have 3x HAF922 LOL

but i wouldn't worry to much about the case i'd rather have a new GPU ..more excitement

And there is a lot to do with the cables if you use the dremel at some places

Wouldn't a 560 be a downgrade from my 5870?

The HAF 922 is a great case. The best in it's class, but I want an higher class case.

I will go as far as saying it beats MANY cases that are more expensive then it self.

Money is a problem for me since I go to school. I have long school days so I'm brain dead after school so having a job on the side would totally kill me, but I still want a job so I can earn more money, but that's where the big problem comes in, it's really hard to get a job where I live.

Hmm... If you look at these pictures (I'm static IP banned from GameTrailers now xD): http://www.gametrailers.com/users/KapteinFruit/gamepad/?action=viewblog&id=528787

It does look better now. The cables doesn't stick out if you know what I mean.

And to be honest I'm VERY tired of the HAF 922.

But I agree that a new GPU would be more exciting, but looks is also very important to me.

Hmm... I got a thing on my mind. If I go for a case I will lap my i5-750. I just don't see a point in doing it with my dusty HAF 922 that needs cleaning every third week. Just a thought.

GTX 570 and fractal design xl

The Fractal Design XL got a weird layout. It doesn't have a proper cut out for the 8 pin so you have to use the cut out that's more to the right and have the cable going that way which does so a lot of the cable will be shown. Plus I bet most 8 pin cables are too short for that so you'll need an extention cable too. Plus it got ad airflow. I wanted the XL in the beginning, but after doing some research I found out that it's not much of a case after all.

Why would you replace a 5870 for a newer generation card? The performance of a 5870 is still very very good.... and isnt far behind on the newer generation, except tesselation. If money is a problem, you should save the money and wait for another generation card... So if you want something new at this point, i should go for another case if you are tired of it. Ofcourse this is just my opinion, do what you think is best

Cheers!

My 5870 is falling behind. I play a lot of BC2, well I did before my homie joined the army, anyways, in BC2 it goes below 60 a lot which is annoying because I need a FPS over 60 FPS because I hate lagging. It drives me nuts. It's the same story with most new games. But I think I'm going for a case. I can always just get a second 5870 and be set for at least the next gen cards. The 5870's are getting cheaper and cheaper these days.
