what should i buy?

no catch apart from the fact I have transferred the money into his account and have to trust he will send it. he said he's goin to post it as we speak. just hope I don't get scammed!! but if the deal does through I think I have a good bargain! :-)

I hope it works out ok for you, the GTX 690 is a cracking card. A guy on another forum sold his 2 x Asus matrix platinum HD 7970s to get a GTX 690 and has not looked back since.

Where's it from?
That sounds too good to be true to me :/

looks like jamesriley94 is correct! I seem to have been scammed for a shit load of money :-( why is there soon many people like that? now I have only onboard graphics until I can raise more money :-( gutted!!

I have spoke to the bank and they said that because I have autherised the money to leave my account then there is nothing they can do, but ill go in and see them tomorrow :( FML!

gumtree unfortunately :-(

Oh dear....
Always go and collect things on gumtree. Never send anyone money before seeing it.

How much have you lost in it then?

Call up your local police and see what they say about it. They'll have the power to get his details from the banks for you from his account number and sort code.

With that, you could file a small claims case if you wanted to.

People please. Recognised firms, Scan/Aria/etc are there and popular, not just cos they got 'decent' prices, but because you have clause and support afterwards.

I'd even stretch to Amazon and their sub stores, cos Amazon cover everything if sh1t happens.

eBay ? meh, not for big stuff for me, but I believe they cover stuff too, to an extent.

And don't forget mister credit card - the better ones will help you when there is a dispute.

None of this cheesey purchasing stuff, even for saving £20. Any more than £20 and it usually is too good to be true.

Most people have been there and done it - once.

I don't completely agree with that actually.

I've bought 3 full systems off gumtree - as of tomorrow that will be 4, and I haven't had a single problem yet.

Obviously it's a bit different here as someone's bank transferred the money without getting any details at all about the seller.

You can often get very good deals on gumtree. You find a lot of people who have lost their jobs recently, or have various bills all due at the same time and so are forced to sell their PCs, and at very low prices in order to get them shifted quickly.

Usually, the scammers are the ones who say I'm gunna need a deposit first, or I'll only post it if you send me the money via bank transfer or something similar. As long as you go round to the house / they come to you, and you make them test and show you everything working in front of you you can get some very good deals, and most of the time won't have any problems.

I see where you're coming from. I get frostbite scrolling eBay pages, but I do know people use it a hell of a lot.

Just h8 seeing people getting borked over purchases.

I didn't get his address, but if I did that would probably be bogus anyway. he has gave me a tracking code and I have phoned up royal mail and they said its a sign for item but they are unable to give me any more details. I gave £200 :'( I'm a thick f**k! I'm already skint and just pulled that money together and got scammed. wish I would of kept it and just put the money towards the 7950 from aria!

if you got a tracking code something has been sent and you should be able to track it. http://www.royalmail.com/track-trace

be positive till you know for sure.

I have done that but it says the information isn't available online yet but if u make a fake code it says its nit recognised so it must be real, I'm going to phone royal mail up tomorrow and see if they can give me the name and address the item that the code belongs to has on it. maby I will be lucky! fingers crossed!
