What is better i5 or i7?

i can get a i7 for 200 dollars and yea im doin the dual gpu. yea but i7 has great overclocking potential

Please stop calling it i7, as i've just explained in detail the differences between i7's. Are you talking about a Lynnfield or a Bloomsfield i7?

At that price i guess it's a good buy if you're on a multi-gpu. But the i5 750 is faster for almost anything.

But when calculating what is most expensive, remember to factor in, that motherboards for Bloomsfields are ususally more expensive than those for Lynnfields. If you find the Bloomsfield platform to cost the same as the Lynnfield i5, then go for the i5 750. The i5 is the winner in performance.
