I love to find good new music, but its hard, since there are so many of them. Post your favourite band and name of the best songs and we can all share, and discover somthing new, unheard music :-)

Heres some of my favourite music groups/bands:

3DoorsDown-all albums good, and with really good lyrics.

Disturbed(metal). Like all theire albums.

Bigbang-Norwegian band playing some really cool-new hippie styled rock.

A perfect circle. The song "outsider" is awesome, but they got a few more good ones.

Monster Magnet. the song "Spacelord" is uber cool, but i didnt like the rest of the repertoire.

Sepultura: They got a cover song called "orgasmatron". Originally Motorhead who has it.

Biffy Clyro. "many of horrors" and "the captain"

Breaking Benjamin. "the diary of Jane" and "Breath"

White Lies. A pretty new band ive discovered, and i really like both realeased albums. Listen to the lose my life album first.

H-Blockx. albums time to move and fly eyes are really good.

Kaizers Orchestra. From Norway also and they use alot of different instruments. Can recomend the song called "maestro" and "knekker deg til sist" but they have many really good ones, so check them out if you can bare singing in Norwegian :-)

A few new bands i started to listen to recently are "Foster the people" and "Delta spirit". Really like both of those. Started to like them when i saw the live consert from Lollapalooza.

El Caco. Really good norwegian metal. Check out "the glow" "am i wrong" "substitute" "grinding the diamond" and "someone new"

Janove Ottesen: Norwegian solo artist. Lead singer in kaizer orchestra

Default. Great band from Canada. I love all thire albums.

Stone Temple Pilots. Check out the album "core". One of my best albums

Temple of the Dog. Eddie wedder and chris cornell. whole album is great.

Span. Norwegian metalband. The album Mass destruction is very good. Check out lead vocal bernhoft solo album "ceramic city". its jazzy

Theres so many other groups/bands i like, but many are well known to most. I will update later when i remember other good ones.

I'm a total metal head, but I prefer "smart" metal, not listening to jabbering idiots scream into a mic (can't understand you = new song)

Megadeth - "Holy Wars...The Punishment Due" fav. album(s): Rust In Peace & United Abominations (Peace Sells...But Whos' Buying is excellent too)Slayer - "Angel of Death"(from Reign In Blood, best song on that album, twisted as f**k though), fav. album(s): Season In The Abyss, South of Heaven

Avenged Sevenfold: - "Betrayed", fav. album: City of Evil

Sepultura - "Territory" -

Pantera - "This Love", fav album(s): Vulgar Display of Power, Cowboys From Hell

I think Megadeth's Rust In Peace is a great place to start. I started there myself. I was around 11 or 12 when I stayed up late to watch "Much Loud". I saw the video for Megadeth's "Holy Wars...The Punishment Due"(1st track on Rust In Peace) and was instantly hooked.

Edit: forgot to add the greatest British metal band EVER:

Iron Maiden - "The Trooper", fav album: All of them, IM can do no wrong

Guy who recommended A Perfect Circle, I agree. Also, listen to Tool. They've got some very intelligent lyrics. I got to ask you to watch/listen to the song "Lateralus" on Youtube. It's freakin amazing

Edit 2: feel a little retarded. forgot Metallica

Metallica - "For Whom The Bell Tolls", fav albums: Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets & ...And Justice For All

More into chill these days...

Bit of AC/DC in the car.

Classic Floyd, Zeppelin & of course Queen.

ELO - Time when I'm cooking or a bit of Enigma...

With spotify limiting me to 10 hours of music each month (I refuse to pay for it) I searched online to find new music.

If there's a specific band/artist/singer you like you can enter them in this : http://audiomap.tuneglue.net/ database which collects other artists, etc who are similar to your input. It's really good. I was looking for classic Linkin Park related bands and I managed to find a band Chester and Relient K set up together. It's pretty awesome if you're looking for something new in the same style as a favourite band you like.
