Hi
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience using one of these in a desktop computer. The AV series are more designed for DVRs/CCTV that sort of thing. A western digital rep replied to someone else on their forums that because of the way its designed it won't be very fast in windows like their other drives.
Now, these things have to be taken with a pinch of salt. I grabbed on off ebay for a reasonable amount but I had it sent to the wrong address so if I can find some solid information and it's not going to be suitable (which I dout TBH) then I can find myself another one rather than waiting 2 weeks and then finding out its no good.
No matter how 'slow' it is, it will be way faster (or atleast it should be) than the drive it's replaceing as the PC it's going into is currently running of an old 120gb SATA laptop drive. I know its old because its no faster, and maybe even a pinch slower than a 80gb PATA laptop drive I had.
So my gut instinct is that it's going to be fine. Not as fast as my Samsung F3, but fast enough not to worry about.
If anyone has any experience to confirm this or set me straight it would be rather helpful
Thanks
