Welcome to the Windows 7 Beta Customer Preview Program

i just extracted the iso to a folder and started the install from there (to a spare drive/partition)

I first installed it onto a partition that was created using the acronis disk director (i think its called that) and it started to stay your hard drive is corrupt, run chkdsk etc but ran that to no avail.. burnt the iso, made a partition in the setup and its fine.

Had no problem downloading it yesterday, need to burn it to disc. I will be installing it on to my "2Cool" rig later this week.

Really feeling this new Windows 7, its very nice to use and I like the speed as well... definately 1 up on Vista... I have started to use 7 more than my primary install of Vista 64 lol... the only issue I had tbh was having to disable signed driver enforcement on 7 so that it would recognize my LEGIT Netgear wireless driver... but no bother really. Runs smoothly and I've not had a single BSOD or freeze up yet

Give me a cheap upgrade from vista and ill be happy to buy it

Something like £20 to upgrade the serial to work with 7 would be fine for all those users who have just upgraded to vista xD

there is talk about them doing it again, but only an upgrade from vista. Dont think they'll do it from xp.

Not an upgrade disk though? I mean purely license, then let me download an iso off them/send me a disk?

Always like a fresh start

use firefox, it's stable as. IE8 Beta 2 is absolute pants. Accellotors are a nice idea but only when IE behanves and works. Had W7 on PC since the friday it was released. Have to say i have not found many major floors. Sooo much nicer than Vista. machines has wondered where all it's extra resources have come back from having had them taken for so long.

Actually looks like MS listened for once and starting from base kernal was a good idea!

It would appear that they have stuck to what they have said and have listened to what people have suggested

i've kinda stopped using 7 for now :(

my mic just stops working when i plug in more than 4gb of mem...

and being kicked by punkbuster on cod4 is a bit of a pita too

(strange that it works fine for other games though)

edit:

i did find a blog with a suggested PB fix:

http://msmvps.com/blogs/brianmadsen/archive/2009/01/14/windows-7-punkbuster-fix.aspx

simply ticking the "allow service to interact with desktop" didn't work for me

but there have been some more posts/suggestions since i tried *shrug*

Like a "fixed" Vista, or an OS in it's own right ? - and if not "fixed", what does it have that separates it from Vista ?

more like a fixed revamped vista in my opinion I for one am sticking with the beta and will buy a copy when its released.

Why don't you try it???

Do u feel a trade in for ur Vista stuff should be in order ?

We got the Beta on at work atm, I haven't got a free pc at home atm, all busy.
