Welcome to the Windows 7 Beta Customer Preview Program

one thing I now have the file but if i install this I pressume its a completer re-install.

And will vista 64bit drivers such as nV and ati cards drivers support windows 7 I pressume it will...unofficialy atleats, just wanna be sure before I give it a whirl.

If I could get the files, I'd put it on my spare 120GB disc. As it is though I reckon I'll have to wait till they get the servers alive, then maybe use the universities' 100Mb line when I'm back.

redownload? why would you do that?

if you are running one of the leaked builds, don't worry, they are exactly the same as the official isos ;)

i can still get a good 2MB+/sec from the direct links *shrug*

there were talks of the leaked builds containing spyware. Not sure how true it is though.

yes, it should really be a complete reinstall although i think it is possible to "upgrade" vista *shrug*

yes, most vista drivers work fine.

i know ati have a win7 preview driver, and i think nv do too

i think that was a false report

unless there are some out there that have been tampered with...

from what i've seen, the leaked images have the same file hashes as the official ones (md5, sha-1 crc32 etc.)

Thanks for the advice given it a go with the ati beta drivers so far so good seems a little quicker on boot few changes here and there will see how it goes.

little pic

p.s what happens when the beta expires will I have to revert back to vista??? untill windows 7 is officialy released...or wil there be a cough*hack*cough in order to stop this and not to looseing your files and so on.

the really quick ones on here may already notice the watermark has errr gone...not me LOL :D will this disable the time limit?

hope i'm not breaking any OC3D rules.

yeah i used the watermark and feedback link removers too ;)

after activating with a key, it should last until july/aug sometime, but there will prolly be higher builds released or leaked before then anyway

i guess you could use the slmgr to rearm (5 rearms on this build) or cough *hack* cough, stop the licensing service...

p.s. the keys being issued at the moment are not unique and there seems to only be about 10 of them:

[edit] the pages are just giving out the same keys over and over without erroring now

64-bit keys: https://www.microsoft.com/betaexperience/sc...w&LCID=1033

32-bit keys: https://www.microsoft.com/betaexperience/sc...w&LCID=1033

QXV7B-K78W2-QGPR6-9FWH9-KGMM7

i'm guessing once microsoft get sorted and you can register for the downloads & keys, they will be unique again

Got 3 pcs working on something atm and need to play some games this weekend or I'll go mad. Don't fancy installing it on a laptop atm so I might have to w8 a while.

If any beta users wouldn't mind trying something for me tho...

  • Be sure the folder options are set to show all files including hidden and system.
  • Have a folder on the desktop, we'll call it "A", and copy a bunch of pictures into it. Maybe 10 or so.
  • Make another folder on the desktop, we'll call it "B", and copy "A" into it, by holding ur right mouse on it, drag it to "B" - let go and select copy.
  • Now, move "A" into "B", by holding ur right mouse on it, drag it to "B" and select move.
  • Of course a requester will pop-up informing u that the folder and files exist - reply to replace them all.

After doing this, is the folder "A" still on the desktop and empty ?

This is a bug in Vista.

i created "A" and copied a load o crap into it.

created "B" and copied "A" into it.

dragged and moved "A" into "B" and ok'd the dialogue boxes....

drumroll please....

no empty "A" folder on the desktop

[edit] lol, too slow, nvm

well its certainly running alot better on my netbook than vista did. Not hard though! Nice to see theyv'e reduced the memory footprint. Not to sure about the bar thing at the bottom though.
