Welcome to The Machine

Thursday is going to be a Happy Day Around here! The case has finally Shipped from Caselabs and is supposedly going to be delivered Thursday. Provided there aren't any more unforeseen issues, I'll finally get this thing going. The water cooling is still on hold until I get the rig together and make some measurements and ensure all the hardware works so I won't be waiting on any more RMA's.

Well, this showed up and the box was pretty beat up and the box inside the box was kind of scuffed. Ohh and yes I know its totally freaking overkill for this system, I'm just not sure what the draw from the cooling loop(s) is going to be yet so I went big and if I can I'll gown down to my HX1000i instead.

Well things came together fairly quickly.

They forget to mention something in the directions here.

One of the rubber feet made a good stand off in order to mount the PSU. It then got stuck so I had to loosen it up in order to remove it.

The CPU moved into it's new home!

This is an awful thing to install, Have a magnetic screwdriver for this! I dropped one of those screws and it took me 20 min to find it. If I was doing this in the living room it would have been lost forever.

The 950 in it's new home.

This mess has been adjusted a few times now, this is where it started. The EPS lead was moved to the hole at the right lower of the picture, a very tight fit for the connecter but with a little butter it made it through. I definitely need some cable combs.

IT LIVES!

There were some issues getting it running properly at first, had to fiddle with the bios in order to get the M.2 bootable under UEFI and those 3200MhZ DIMMS wont run at 3200. Apparently, even though the documentation stated that is supports that speed this MOBO CHIP combination does not, not even under XMP. Since I'm new to the ASUS bios I might be able to figure it out eventually but for now I'll have to settle for an 1199 JDEC, or 2398 MhZ.

Here's some quickie benches Running at that speed with the CPU at 4.5GhZ.

This is a Crystal Disk Mark for the 6TB WD Black.

This one is for the 2 Samsung 850 EVO's in RAID 0.

And finally the 950 Pro.

I'll have more later this week, including some PC/3D Mark scores for both Single and Dual GPU's and I'll include shots of the HDD/SSD Cages.

Enjoy, be safe and Happy gaming! B)

Well all the parts finally arrived, except for the SLI bridge, maybe Friday....Maybe. Got it all together and poof it works, next I'll be moving on to water cooling...After some more Overtime at work. :(

Some Test Results

Not so sure how accurate this one is, seems kind of high.
