Weird Ethernet Port Issue

Hi guys,
The Ethernet port on my motherboard wont turn on normally. to turn it on i either need to go into bios when the pc is booting, save settings and exit (without changing anything) or i can boot to the lock screen and restart my pc (shutting down and turning it back on immediately, doesnt work). Faterthis my Ethernet port works fine

This issue is happening for many months now and it is kinda an effort to do it everytime, my pc specs are in my signature. Any ideas how to fix this?? I think it could be something to do with cmos battery. but not sure

I dont think it is driver related bacause i had the same issue in win 7 and its still here in win 8. and as i mentioned earlier it can be fixed by going thorugh the boot screen twice, in which case driver is not even involved. but thanks for the advice though :)

Well I've just fixed almost the same issue for someone by updating to the latest driver. The fact it happens in win 8 and win 7 does not rule out a driver issue..

Try checking your power settings/lan settings in the BIOS as well.

okay i tried it with the latest one i can find these are for win 7 64bit and it wont let me installit says these drivers are for vista only. after that i checked the latest available drivers were 7.3 something and i already have 8.0 something.

Also i did go into the bios but didnt find anything out of order unless i am completely missing something

Oh I thought you were using win7. Search for some LAN issues with Asus boards, others have found quirks with the device settings that have helped them.

When you start your pc for the first time does the LAN adapter appear in Device Manager or Network and Sharing Center -> Adapters?
