also a youtube video of her.

She edits a magazine called the The Autism File

Im assuming she's stating if she helped all people with autism to gain work they would not claim benefits and perhaps save the country in benefit payouts and gain in the labour they provide.

Not sure really not read into it too much.

Nice find lasher.

Will read into it and try and explain.

Feel free to discuss this fellow users.

i totally support the theory about MMR and Autism. My daughter when very young was very bright and intelligent yet after her MMR thing took a downward spiral. After years of fighting for her to being tested she was found to have autistic spectrum disorder.

Many of us parents talk about this when we meet up and when you look at each case you can see simularties between them all yet so called doctors all ways deny it. Provably because if they did they would be hit with the biggest law suit known to man kind.

Autism is very hard to deal with at time's and we get hardly any help. We as parents just have to get on with it ... We how ever do get 2 days a moth were she stays at a rest bite place (walker's crisp point's ;) were given to them ) 2 days a month so that me and my lass get a little rest our selfs.

could go for ever tbh but wont.

another note the "exclusion diets" are very bad for kids we know some one who tried it and put her child in jeopardy.

Dear Gordon Brown, I can save you £xxx million a year. Its called removing police targets and re-introducing pay beds in the NHS. Its called decomissioning CCTV cameras and re-introducing liberties. Its called not spending on failed companies and not offering benefits to anyone who pleases.

Call me on 01856-ROFL-CHOFLE

The MMR-autism link is a steaming pile of bunk which was whipped into a 10 year scare story by the media. I know it's nice to have something or someone to blame for all the bad things in our lives, but you may as well pin the blame on unicorns.

Helping children and adults with autism is a great cause and if it works would do wonders for everyone in the country.

Personally, I'm hoping they cure diabetes, as that would save quite a chunk of change.

Doctors like to throw the diabetic answer around alot and asphma?? too.

People get ill, they get afflictions. We seem content to suck on exhaust pipes every day, radiate cities, smoke, drink, eat food with increasing amounts of mercury, junk food, tap water is sh1t, inject stuff in the name of a cure for something no-one's had for 100s of years - not to mention the alien-colaboration stuff.

But ofc, it's <insert current prime minister's> fault. Never anything we know we've done.

We'll blame McDonalds, Marlboro, Exxon, Carlsberg, Iraq, George Bush, doctors, government and ofc the aliens, where the majority of it is common sense that no-one generally has.

Well, I've got a little brother who's autisitic. Something we should remember is that it's called the autistic spectrum for a reason, every case is different.

My little brothers never had any jabs (good luck getting him to hold still while brandishing pointy objects), he's never been Ill, was simply born that way.

Until I see definate proof that certain illnesses are linked to autism I'm not going to believe it.

On a side note, I recently watched an oldish channel 4 program ( 5 years old or so I'd say) about "autism camps" where they'd use "behavioral therapy" to try and improve autistic kids behavior. It consisted entirely of screaming in the poor little buggers faces till they were scared, confused and tearful. I understand some parents will try anything to try and improve the life chances of their kid, but watching the program made me want to catch a plane and punch the damn "carer" right in his ugly mug.

Personally, I think autism is a terrible condition, but the best thing to do for anyone who suffers it is show unconditional love and forgiveness, not shout at them till they're so scared they won't even move.

Don't really know where I was going with that tbh lol.

True my mate has aspergers syndrome, the doctors had to take him away from where he lived and I never seen him since. I just seen him on Facebook and am meeting him after many years, we used to be best friends and he was sent to some assylum just because he had a deep interest in satanic books and Bruce Lee... He also denies having it, he was a normal and outgoing chap.

I'm still looking for your point too :D

Anyhow, I think autism is regarded too much as a disease rather than a disorder. Some people act like it makes the person impossible to handle and function in society.

One of my friends is has the asperger syndrome (yet another form of autism), and quite severely. But -partly because of this- he's as intelligent as you can get people (highest secondary education without a sweat) and he isn't all that bad socially either.

You just have to make sure he understands you, be less subtle. When you are talking to someone else don't look at him, if you are talking to him make sure you are. He understands when someone is talking to someone else and knows he will get his time.

And this "behavioral therapy", if you can get a flight please contact me so I can join the bashing :)

Exactly the same as my mate. I must admit sometimes he used to laugh a lot at things that weren't funny, but so did we all when we were 13-14. Was a big loss on my behalf and I still have considered him my best friend since then. I tried to contact his mother who also all of a sudden went missing and the rest of his family was gone. Don't understand why anyone would take someone away because the had autism.... He apparently stayed in this place with other teenagers the same age and lived there like school. They spend Xmas, birthdays there etc...

Shame really, was great guy but now he is able to leave...

Well in my case my little brothers severely autistic, can't speak or feed/dress himself etc.

I'm sure there's quite a few people who aren't as severely disabled out there who could work, but the question of course would be where would the line be drawn? IE, who can and can't work.

There, there's my point, as to my earlier post I just had a flashback about that program and started ranting I guess haha.

As for asbergers, it is indeed an odd condition. In a way it's a double damning, because not only are most kids with asbergers socially impaired to varying degrees, quite a lot are, as you say, amazingly intelligent. I say a double damning because not only are a lot of these kids bullied for being "nerds", they also lack the social skills to deal with their tormentors. I think the main concern before we start introducing less severely autistic individuals into the workplace is to try to effectively combat the amount of abuse and hatred a depressingly large part of society show towards autistic people on a day to day basis.
