WD Elements 1tb external hdd

so today i turn on my lappy and go to my computer only to find my external 1tb wd hdd isnt showing up,so i go to disk manager and it says its not initialized and thinks its blank and unpatitioned,im pissed to say the least as i had 600-700gb data on it

any ideas what would cause this?

Could be something mechanical w/ the drive. You can run Western Digital's diagnostics to confirm the integrity of the disk. If it passes diagnostics with flying colors try www.easeus.com/datarecoverywizardpro If diagnostics find a problem, try www.grc.com/spinrite.htm. Good luck!
