WC parts

Hi guys,

it has been long time didn't login.

anyway, currently, i'm looking for a casing upgrade and the WC parts.
the casing are either Phanteks Enthoo Primo
http://www.phanteks.com/Enthoo-Primo.html
OR Phantom 630.
I want to fit a 360 Monsta and a 240 Monsta rads to cool my CPU and GPU.
I will OC my CPU to 4.0 - 4.2 and left the GPU at stock.
I notice that MSI TF4 GTX670 is non-ref graphic card, so only can use universal block and VRM heatsink.
questions are:
1. will the Monsta rads overkill my setup?
2. can 240 Monsta(with push-pull) fit at the bottom of the P630?
3. can I just leave the VRM without the heatsink (if i'm not going to OC it)
4. can I fit EX360 and 240 Monsta (both are push-pull) top and bottom of P630?
5. suggestion of WC part for P630?
My rig spec:
MSI Z77 MPower
CPU I5 3570K
G.Skill Sniper 4x4GB 2133MHz
MSI TF4 GTX670
Rosewill Tachyon 750W
WD 1TB Caviar Blue

I know that is quite some questions.
thanks for reading and advice.

1. The more rads you add the slower you can run your fans. Overkill rads is when the water temp exiting your rad is at room temp when your system is at full load. As it can't cool it below room temp its unnecessarily passing through more rads without any temp benefits to the coolant. In that case the extra rad would only be causing restriction in your loop slowing down the coolant flow and very slightly increasing your temps.

So no, those aren't overkill rads as I can guarantee you that won't happen.

2. In this picture you can see the front fans. They are 120mm (maybe 140mm) tall. A set-up you are proposing would be 80+25+25=130mm tall. So It would fit but it would be tight.

3. You will need to buy a passive heat sink ans stick it on top of the VRM with thermal pads. The same goes for the RAM. Have a look at this picture.

4. Look at 2. Not sure about the EX360.

5. Firstly a Laing pump. Pick what block you think looks best, don't look at performance as that should be the least of your worries when watercooling. Go with EK fittings. They are cheap and they work. You can look at Monsoon or Bitspower fittings if you have more money to spend. Primochill LRT Advanced or Masterkleer tubing. Pick any res. Use a pump res combo if you want to save on space.

Thanks, Greenback.
I'm still undecided to get which casing.
I think that I'm better to have a real close look on these two casings before I buy it.
and I just found out that custom loop is very expensive.
water blocks, radiators, fittings, pump and res, and fans (I didn't know that fans will be that expensive).. cost me about 500 - 600 euro...
while I research the casings, I need to do some big saving....

Sadly there are not too many great watercooling cases that are also cheap. I do think the switch 810 is one of the best watercooling cases in that pricerange though. I've also looked at cases for a very long time because I want to watercool, and I'm glad I managed to get a brand new looking, but second hand 700D (with 800D sidepanel) for 100 euro's.

Maybe that's an option for you? Look around your most active national hardware forum and find a great 2nd hand case.

Fans are expensive yes, but some of the best fans aren't the most expensive ones (just the ugliest, in my opinion): the Gentle Typhoon (1850 rpm version). They are, according to Martinsliquidlab.org and other reviewers/websites, the king of low RPM radiator fans. They're really good for the money.

I am SO glad this is not your build. This is awful. they've mounted a rad to the fan hinge plus 3 120/140 rads in a case screams Noob. The guy wouldve been far better off putting a monster in the front and maybe a monster in the roof. would've been more than sufficient surely?

something like this is what I hope to achieve when I WC my 630 for the first time

Thanks for the advice. I also selling my Shinobi XL window version slightly less than 100 euro.

Yes, I'm looking at the GT 1850rpm fan (and for me, the GT fan looks better than the Noctua fan). As I'm planning to get XSPC AX360 and EX240 in push-pull config, which mean I need 10 fans. It costs me around 150 euro just for the fan, if i'm not calculated wrongly.

nice rig!! I always wanted a Phantom630 until I saw Phanteks Enthoo Primo...
now, I need to do a lot saving while researching the WC parts and casings.

Thanks for the advice, guys.:)

No its not overkill, however remember this

"its better to have a clean looking loop than a messy loop"
and
"its better to have a thicker radiator with low speed fans than a thin or many radiators with high speed fans"

just y thoughts and someone else's lines :D

No offence meant, but that system looks like utter s**t. i can seriously bet you even if those fans are running slowly it will still be very noisy and all those extra rads just adds more restriction, thus it lessens the effect of the radiator at work, my lord this dude needs to be shot.

^^^ Not to mention the purple and gold don't exactly compliment each other very well.

lol couldn't just let it rest before people started mentioning color? geez

that said I got a mega mod to do soon and I have no intention of making it look anything like this, even though I got 3 radiators and for now 2 waterblocks (for now before I get another or maybe 2 gpus).
