Watercooling for new Setup

Hey folks.

Im going to start my first Buildlog really soon on this Forum.

Just wanted to hear your opinion on the parts I picked out.

It's gonna be a beast!

Why are you getting an mATX motherboard for an ATX case?

The new Vengeance Pro series is also a lot nicer looking than the older LP stuff, so I'd suggest you swap to that since the budget is there.

Finally, the waterblocks for the graphics cards aren't compatible. You'd be better off switching to reference design cards.

1. Pricing. I don't Wang to Pay any more than necessary. The only other motherboard I'd buy would be the saber tooth.
Which is like 50€ more.
2. Well pricing again.. If it ain't look good it shouldn't be visible at all.. The only other RAM I like would be the Corsair Pro Series which would be another 40€...
3. Well, the water blocks claim to be compatible on the EKWB configurator. Otherwise I'd take some EVGA cards as I really like the manufacturer.

I would kind of advise against the DCP 4.0. It's Noisy!

I once had it and if your just throwing all components in the case for performance then its fine. If you want the system to look good, the DCP 4.0 is ugly and somewhat difficult to find an optimum placement to hide it conveniently without taking up much space.

I would opt for the MCP35x, tiny in comparison, performs WAY better and its much quieter

Look into your EK bridge connector and make sure its compatible with the GPU blocks. GPU blocks are kinda new and not compatible with slightly older bridges.

Well, silence would be good, but isn't necessary.
I like the look of the EKWB Pump. In my sketch up it fits just fine. I cannot tell a lot about noise levels since this is my first water cooled build..

The bridges should probably be compatible. Since it's both EKWB. Though I couldn't find any compatibility list about them.

Thank you for the suggestions and tips so far.

Do you have any other advices? E.g which coolant? I'd like to go for a white.. But I don't know the market well...
Or are there other possibilities for the pump?

well if you go for Mayhem Pastel colours, dont use primochill tubing as it stains them very quickly.

Personally I use EK coolant. Reviews were good and gives a nice UV green colour. Maybe you should contact EK and ask if that bridge will be compatible with the gpu blocks. Just because they are all from EK doesnt mean they are compatible. Different GPU blocks need different bridges. e.g my bridge for the 680 cards was not compatible with the 780 blocks. Obvious reason behind it but still should consider.

I use the MCP35x pump now, its 50% smaller, much more powerful and quieter than the dcp4.0. Im not a fan of these pump/drivebay res combos either. I have it set to 30% and it cant be heard yet still pumps like a monster.

Okay, I'm going to contact EKWB for the bridges these days.

Is there other manufacturers for tubing I can consider to buy? I don't want to have any other colors then black an white in the water cooling setup. So I'd stick with white coolant. Maybe adding some blue with LEDs later.
I will post some pictures of the 3D model I'm working on later this day.

You can still use masterkleer tubing. There is also XSPC, Thermochill, Clear Flex, Masterclear and a few other brands


Just ensure Primochill or Tygon is NOT used. It literally clouds up the tube in just 2-3 days.

Oh, by the way! Is it possible to change the sata cables on the back of the hot swap drives?
