Water Cooling Loop NEED Advice

I am still debating watercooling but if I do this is what I am thinking of:

CPU WB: Swiftech Apogee HD
Graphics WB: EK DCUII 670 WB
Rad: Phyobia Nova
Pump: Swiftech MCP35
Res: EK Multioption RES X2 150 Basic
Tubing and Pipe:
Bitspower 5 slot crystal link (for the res to pump connection)
Fittings and conectors:
8 Bitspower G1/4 Compression fittings black
2 Bitspower G1/4 Multi-Link adapter Black
2 Bitspower G1/4 90 degree Black
2 Koolance Qiuck disconnect set
Coolant: PrimoChill Blood Red
Fans: 9 Cm Excalibers
Fan Grills: 18 120mm black
Rad Feet: nova rad feet

The rad will be in my garage which is right throught the wall from my computer. The rest will be inside of my 800D and is I get the Maximus V Formula I will add the MOBO to the loop. If you have and ideas on waterblocks tubing coolant anything I want to make it the best I can.

why do you want quick disconnects if you want it to look nice.....?

You also dont really give much information here fella. You need to ask questions and be more specific *confused face*

The quick disconects are for the rad in the garage so the pipes will go throught the wall and I won't be able to see the disconnects. I want to know how well the blocks perform and if there are better ones out there. I also want to know how well the tubing and coolant is and is the pump is good or not.

Apogee is a good block, expensive though. That and the XSPC raystorm are pretty similar performacne wise but the apogee is much more expensive. GPU block, I dont trust EK anymore, not only have they had too many problems for my liking but they deny them and blame the user, which is even worse! Although I see you have the DCUII? In which case you dont really have an option. I dont know if you would need the D5 type pump or not, I have one and I only need to run it on the lowest setting so you are probably fine there. Tubing I cant see in your list? Coolant, I dont like the premix stuff, if I dont know what is in it I dont use it. For me its distilled water and biocide every time.

I forgot to put that I don't know what kind of piping is good or not so I would like someone to recomend some clear tubing. What do I use to make my own coolant then if the premixed isnt good. I haven't cheked out the raystorm but ive seen it in some other builds and it looks nice with lights. By the way your desk project is very nice wish I had the talent to do something like that.....:P also what dyes do you recommend?

Coolant isnt anything special, all you need is distilled water, biocide and a dye if you want it coloured. Pretty much everyone here is going to reccommend Mayhems dyes I think, not heard of any problems with them. I used Mayhems Biocide in my loop, it seems to work, cant say much more than that really. Keeping the additives and dyes from the same brand is a good idea whatever you choose though.

The good thing about making the coolant yourself is that you can add as much or little of the dye (dyes if you want to make up some random custom colour) to get the exact shade you want.

In terms of tubing, ive read a lot about primochill heaving loads of plasticiser leaching issues so I would avoid that. In fact the recent plasticiser issues with tubing is partly what lead me to hard lining my desk...Sorry to be not so helpful there but I wouldnt want to advise you badly.

Thanks :) Its getting there slowly, it is more of a test of patience than skill though!

QFT.
Damn ugly pointless things.

Did i mention the o-rings perish quickly?

I know you believe quick-disconnects to be essential for taking apart the loop to say replace a motherboard without having to drain the loop every single time but honestly, it is good practice to do so instead of using quick disconnects. I myself have a fresh pair sitting on the table but I ended up not using them cause I know its safer and better to simply drain the loop then work on your system.

Keep fresh tubing laying around for when you want to change parts or upgrade things in your loop. Quick disconnects simply encourages the user to keep old tubing and liquid in their loop instead of changing it when they change things in their system which is the best thing to do. Instead of using quick-disconnects design your loop with an easy way to drain it. There's several builds on the forums to give you ideas on how to do this effectively.

As far as coolant goes, I believe using distilled water is just a hassle. Your temps may be a bit better but you have to use biocide and silver to keep it clean and in many cases that doesn't always work. Pre-mixed coolant has all the protection already mixed in and doesn't need any biocide or silver. One less thing to worry about.
