water cooling a rampage extreme 775 x48

I found a rampage extreme 775 socket X48 chipset . I have an old Q9650 and memory that will work . what i would like to know is when i water cool it[i have.vol cooling blocks,cpu block & nb block] do i lose the heat pipe an how. If anyone can help let me know

The stock heat pipe for the motherboard itself will be fine, There's a waterblock available for the NB sink made by swiftec as well
