Hello!
I was told you guys could help...
Below the faqs are my specs etc. and then I explain more thorough.

• Where are you located?
Denmark

• What is your budget?
About 4000dkk.
About 536 euro.
About 720 usd.
I would prefer to not go that high though, 'cause I'd be almost broke!

• Will you need a monitor, keyboard, and/or mouse included in that budget?
No.
Unless there's a 144fps monitor for sale with a graphic card deal ;P Ok...wishful thinking.

• Shall you be requiring an OS?
No.

• What will you be using this rig for?
Gaming.

• If gaming, what resolution will you be playing at?
1920x1080

• Will you be overclocking?
I don't know how to. :(

• Do you need a full build or will you be reusing some old parts?
Old parts!
Aaaand this is where my speech comes in:

My specs:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 860 @ 2.80GHz
RAM: 8,00 GB
Graphic card: ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series
Motherboard: P55M-UD2
Harddrive: 1TB (7200 rpm)
Powersupply: Energon EPS-650W (I was told it's outdated and won't handle newer graphic cards)
Case: Not sure. It's medium sized I guess.

So yes! I've been trying to research it, but I feel like a herpaderp when it comes to things like this.

I've had this baby for 3½ years now, but it's not what it used to be with newer games.
I would like to play games at a higher fps than now. I can't run high graphics, but when I do I have very low fps. Not that I need "very high" settings, having "low" with a great fps would also be awesome.
Example: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive averages at 60 fps, 40 when a lot is happening. A stable 100+ fps would be awesome.
Would probably start streaming (on twitch etc) if it felt like my computer could handle it.

I've been told my graphic driver is outdated, but if I wanted new graphic driver I'd also need new power supply.
Help? What can I do, what is ideally to change? is it the graphic driver or?

Please ask questions if there's more you need to know!

Thank you so much beforehand!♥

TL;DR. I'd like to keep my pc/old parts but upgrade it/a few parts. Not sure what to upgrade. Specs midpage. Am not Richie Rich.

Replace the psu with something by seasonic or corsair or a bequiet! one, a 600w bronze. Then you could get an ssd, something like a samsung evo 120gb. SSDs are the shiz. That would leave you with enough money for something like a 280x or a 770. Which would be great for gaming at 1080p. In terms of streaming I'd say your cpu could do the job however with streaming more cores are advantageous.

IN regards to streaming.. amd 8 core FX cpus rock in that area. Just outside of that they are like a regular 4670k.

Only thing you need to upgrade IMO if your parts are fine as they are now is your GPU.

So my question is. What exactly do you want to upgrade before we recommend any parts?

yea pretty much this. even though a 500W PSU would do as well.
i am curious how well that CPU would still do compared to a haswell i5/i7. GPU should definitely the focus of this upgrade.

its the one thing my cpu does really, really well at I'll say that. However the i7 you have is still a beast. If you don't know what case it is why not take a photo? I'm sure someone on the good ship OC3D will know what it is.

The i7s from that gen are still really solid little chips, the i5s from then are starting to struggle a bit. The i3s are still the best i3s ever imo ^_^. Its a shame they were the only i3s made that were overclockable...

+ fractal design arc midi r2
if that fits in the budged

Wow, I did not expect you guys to respond so quickly! You rock!
Thank you so much, makes a lot of sense!

280x and 770 seem close price wise. Which one <_<? I'm bad at decision making.

Again, yay! thank you!

Haha, I had to make that decision recently ^_^. If you're planning to go multiple GPU then I'd say 280x (I don't want to say mantle as a bonus as the drivers for it aren't out yet). If you'd rather stick with a single gpu then go for a 2gb 770. I'm guessing the 4gb 770s are quite pricey where you are?

I think, of my basic knowledge, that my CPU, ram, and hard drive seems okay. It was my gpu that stood out to me, but I wasn't sure, also I had never realized until today that there was something like a power supply <_<.
So I guess, I want to upgrade my Graphic card and power supply first of all! then I'll look into ssd thingies next :p

I would probably go with a 280x in crossfire over a 770 in SLI. I can get them for cheaper so that's why i would get them. The extra vram should help future proof you a little as well.

For single card then from my personal expeirence a 280x is an absolute beast so i recommdn that, more specifcally the Dcu2 cooler.

4gb 770.. what? I heard of a 3gb 780 or somthing but it was really pricey compared to 2gb 770.

And... multiple gpu <_<? I'm really noobie at this. I think I should stick to singular things for now......!

I think the price difference of what I saw what about 100dkk cheaper on 280x, so price on those 2 doesn't matter!

Ah right okie ^_^. Yeah you'll not want to mess with the drivers then. So, what you should do is find some 770s you like the look of and some 280x that you like the look of. While you are at it don't forget to throw in an ssd (I'd reccommend a samsung evo 120gb) and if you have any money left, maybe find a case you like. A nice, super cheap case that has cable management, dust filters and solid build quality is a Silverstone RL04B.

This company is where I got my computer from 3½ years ago, and they could help me put new parts into it, they have a 770 and a 280x:

Asus GeForce GTX770 2GB: http://www.mm-vision.dk/produkter/vis.asp?menu=pc&varenr=602954
Asus Radeon 280X 3GB http://www.mm-vision.dk/produkter/vis.asp?menu=pc&varenr=60293

I guess it's kinda my choices! What should I go with :/? I read about them but I don't know enough to find deciding differences.

And I feel really herpy right now, 'cause I just realized I have a 120gb ssd lying around from a friend's old pc but I've just never figured out how to install it xP. Maybe the company could help me with that too..

Or you can build everything yourself? Save money and learn for yourself how easy it is.

If its a new build just do a fresh install of windows onto your ssd..

Just because the 280x is cheaper i say get it over the 770..
