Wahey water cooling!

Ok, im considering water cooling and im scared lol. I want it for my p5b deluxe (will it fit?) and a e6300 and for some wiked uv effects. I want it as cheap as possible without it being utter crap (as ive been told thermaltakes are, in a more passionate term...kempez)

please keep it simple as im scared of killing something

Sorta as a first off, we're not a store.

It's not that we should just tell you a system, as you may need to do work as well. A simple buy and assemble system will cost you alot more than working it out on your own and modding gear.

Not true at all at least in my experience, I water and phase and lan all the time.

I just said you have to be a bit more careful with water when transporting it to a LAN. If you've got ur loop tight and keep the PC upright I don't see why not

Um pick up case and move it, just make sure its a closed loop (fillport or the like) and keep it right side up.

Theres a lot of kits that you can buy that had the essentinals, a good water block, an ok pump and a good res. They are pre assembled and for 60 notes offer a good upgrade path and a nice simple intro to watercooling. Look at the alphacool cool answer kits which I blieve that oc3d reviewed and came out smelling of roses

Alphacool is good, looks good, runs good, but may not fit your system that well.

The Alphacool kit is very nice, but you'll have to find a way of mounting the radiator as it doesnt come with anything other than screws.

A better option might be the Swiftech Apex Ultra which comes with a way of mounting your rariator externally over a 120mm fan hole (ideal for the TJ05). It also includes a D5 pump, Apogee block and 3/8" tubing.

And did i mention you can get both the Swifty and Alpha kit over at Specialtech

Some water coolers use a plug type attachment



that uses a clip round the hose to keep it tight; personally this is where the problems start as if the clip is overtightened it can fracture the plug. Alphacool, as with some other brands use a similar system to a garden hose (ie push on the hose, then screw up to tighten). These are great if you need to move the unit around, as the other end of the screw units have an o-ring in, again to stop leaks. Be careful though, more expensive the push in connectors are a good idea but will dribble slightly on removal, so as long as you prepared when disconnecting all will be well, but just make sure you are prepared. I take my pc around different places, and providing its kept upright, its happy (although i have mounted my radiator internally, which seemed the safer option).
