VTX3D or MSI

If people were going to buy some new GPUs and they had some serious RMA concerns who would you rather buy from, VTX3D or MSI? I'm uk based and want to know because i cant deal with another bad RMA experience

Thanks guys share your stories if you want from either of these companies...

MSI is good, but their RMAs aren't. If you need to RMA, you'll be without a card quite a while from what I've read. Don't know about VTX3D.
I'm getting a MSI card anyway, because I'm buying in a physical store and they're going to build it for me (my parents won't let me build myself :/). If something is wrong with the card, they will replace it there.

In my experience Msi have been very good with Rma.. My last Rma with I posted the saturday morning to the netherlands and it was back with me the following saturday....

If i buy the VTX3D im buying from OCuk and if im MSI im getting it from Scan so the question will i not be able just to RMA with the company instead of sending it to MSI (netherlands) or VTX3D (taiwan??) Remember i may never need to RMA i bought a GTX260 from Novatech like 5 years ago and its still going strong (touchwood)

But i cant deal with some bad RMAing after all the hassle ive been through recently...

Is this a trick question?

VTX are absolute chitty chitty gangbang.

chit - say it like you say chute.

MSI RMA is good. Even though they messed me around a bit I got there in the end. However, OCUK are responsible for the first year any way.

Please, don't buy VTX. They are horrible cheap quality nasty pieces of chit.

Don't have experience with RMA'ing either, but I'd much rather send my card to the country right next to you than across half the world. Although I have heard some bad cases where things at Scan would... Disappear?

No experience with that either though, I'm Dutch so I've never bought anything from Scan.

Loads of people on the OCUK forums bought those cheap nasty 7970s (red cooler). The cooler is plastic of all things and utter rubbish. A good few people fitted aftermarket coolers only for the card to fail and were up chit creek.

My first RMA with MSI can only be bettered by the RMA I had to do with BFG once (USA mind). I bought a rebadged cheap Lightning card and it packed up and they sent me a real Lightning (worth £90 more than the one I bought).

They've been a bit crap this time with a motherboard but 2 weeks later and it is being replaced (sent tomorrow).

Gigabyte and KFA2 (formerly BFG) are the best companies to buy cards from in the UK right now, as they both have UK based RMA (Milton Keynes for Gigabyte and Wales for KFA2).

What card was you looking at dude?

Stop for a moment.. You're intending to go Crossfire X 7970s I assume?

Have you read about FCAT and runt/dropped frames yet? If you haven't LMK and I will link you to the thread. Right now CFX doesn't even work properly so it might be time to switch to Nvidia if you were certain you wanted multi GPUs.

I wouldnt think negatively, go for which ever card you like.....just keep your old one just incase.....

I'm about to RMA an XFX PSU which I bought through novatech, and they have said that they will test it and then check with XFX to see what they want to do......

If it does come to it, the manufacturer may even suggest to the reseller just to supply an alternative from their stock.

Obviously the manufacturer that is closest to you would be best, and this I believe is Gigabyte (RMA is UK based) but I have no clue on MSI or VTX.

If XFX is an option, I know that their RMA base is Netherlands

Has to be dual 7970s we got waterblocks and all for them at this point too late to change GPUs now

True, but as far as the MSI and VTX rma goes, it could well be the same situation...

For the UK, Gigabyte is the choice, Here's thinking that XFX just say to Novatech, just supply one from your stock. (I can hope at least)

^^ OmegaStalker's old cards which he had to RMA were XFXs mate :p

tbh they couldnt be RMAed because they were second hand but i did contact XFX to see what repair options there were (was willing to pay for repair and transit) and i never hear back from them even if it was a simple no we wont repair it so you know doesnt bode well for anyone who has to deal with

Dude, they're arseholes.

I had numerous issues with my 7970. I contacted them and after FIVE DAYS they replied saying "please contact your retailer".

Chuff that.
