its a Realtek 8185 wireless card connecting to a thomson ...585v7 router.

I cant get online with the desktop to run auto updates for the realtek card drivers bnut have tried finding latest versions which only got it this far.

how would i do this

routers set at channel 3 iknow that

its wierd ive got it connected now disabling iv6 but the internet is mega mega mega slow, not even usable, i can get google to load after about 2mins but thats about it

Only reason I really mentioned that is that with the old wireless b pci card I had years ago, it was always dropping. Installed a wireless g in my mothers some time ago and it was dropping too. Seem fine, then drop, then reconnect... yada yada. Til I noticed my router was on either 9 or 11, and I set the card to the same and since its been fine.

Something to do with each channel being a frequency range, and I spect some frequencies get interfered with or summit.

My sisters is on channel 1 - works in her place.

It'll be in the cards properties somewhere.

i hated my bebox, so i changed it. I just found it to be clunky and slow and in technical terms a piece of sh!t.

if anyone knows how to change the channel please let me know, just looked at devices properties from device manager and cant see anything
