Thank you for your interest in Windows Vista.

This page includes information to help you download the Windows Vista pre-RC1 ISO file. This pre-RC1 build is available for a limited time – we will close the program when we reach 100,000 downloads.

After downloading, please install and test the build as soon as possible. Most importantly, if there is a crash, hang, or error – please make sure that you send the information back to us using the built-in Windows Error Reporting technology (a dialog box will display automatically). Sending this information is essential to helping us improve the overall quality of Windows Vista – and collecting this information is the primary purpose of distributing this pre-RC1 release.

Thanks for that Bazx.

Is there any faster links anywhere? That one is quite slow :(

i used the same page but the link on the right it came down @ 546kbs

To use your browser

If you would like to use your browser you may use this link:

• Windows Vista pre-RC1, English 32-Bit Edition

this thing is 2.6 gig it took 1 1/2 hour

going to burn and load up tonight i would stick at it microsoft are only allowing 100.000

and this being rc1 should be very good:D

64-bit Vista

As a MS TechNet member, they send me CDs each month with all the recent MS beta and released SW products.

In regards to 64-bit Vista (aka Longhorn, etc) it did not stay on my system for more than a day. The performance was crap, and there is a major issue with finding all the drivers needed. Some XP-64 drivers worked, but the majority did not.

Cheers,

Iceman

try using a download manager as it will still save what you have downloaded and if there are problems it will try and carry on from the problem spot. anouther good thing is you can start and stop whenever you want.

Only thing is that download manager is not safe for 100%, it's may corrupt files sometimes, i had bad experience with nvidia drivers...

How painfull it would be if you would download 2.6GB file and then realize it's corrupted... i would stick with windows downloader 8), just my opinion.

No worries, I can always put the unlimited-time TechNet issued evaluation on my ftp server for an "eval" download. 8)

Nice one M8, would be nice to have a bit longer to play with vista, seams to run fine and all the drivers seam to be working fine, will run some apps on it today and see if there are any problems.

I downloaded in 30min last night, god I love dual ADSL lines :P

Gonna whack it on a drive today and see what she's like. Think I have to use Win2k3 Server drivers for my mobo tho so we shall see.
