Virus Problem?

I checked my comp last week for viruses/adware/spyware and today when I started my comp it was soooo slow, and apps were closing for no reason, firewall was down, and i was getting pop up which I never get. Last night I didn't have any problems, and all of a sudden I just got

on.

Adaware found 48 critical objects, and nothing on AVG yet.

Them present in the list are what we used to like to call malware, u can get 30 or so of them on your pc just from one session of using u`r pc with u`r guard down on an average day.

If avg happened to be down for one session, this can be the result.

I wouldn`t be too alarmed, not in the strictest sense viri.

ZoneAlarm Security Suite for me :)

Easiest way is to run the software in safe mode.

Outside of that we`re going to start talk in terms of HJT, and I don`t see a section on this forum for this so I don`t know how they feel about it. (HJT can dominate a forum once people know u have a section for it)

Safe mode and run the thing again should do it tho.

BIG EDIT/RANT: I can`t believe in this day and age that an antispy/virus package STILL simply says it can`t remove something coz the process is running !!, no 3 !!! - all it has to do is spawn a runonce and inform you that u need to restart as your next action. Job done.

Well, i guess im screwed, no matter what i do i cant get rid of this command service. system restore wont go back to previous date, and spybot cant get rid of it... sigh.

*cough* I just noticed the part where it asks if you want to do it on reboot, oops. Did u try that ?

If you did, it`s not a big issue mate, it`s very resolvable - do you happen to know what the process is called ? Often WINDOWS/SYSTEM32/somethingsilly..

We`ll do it manually if we have to.

Try to get Advanced Windows Care. It's great. Just google the name.

EDIT: Google Advanced Windows Care and you'll find it. It's made by Iobit and it's free!

it did remove some unwanted stuff, but command service is still on my comp, i have no clue at to what i should do to get rid of this.

If you can pick up a second drive for storage. Its deffinatly worth having two.

I just c&p all the files i want to my storage drive. Reformat boot drive & c&p the files back.

Yeah a 2nd hd would be nice but for now im just gonna burn all my files onto DVDs.

oo and uhh how would i go about reformatting lol

Erm yeah there is, just start up a thread in the appropriate area...e.g software :D

Hacking: Prevention and Cure

Guide: Removing Hijacks, Virus' and Spyware

Well ya, what I meant was a dedicated forum section. :p

During the install process of Windo$e, when you boot to the cd, it will ask you where you want to install windo$e, then ask you if you want to format it.

If this is just something that the software is "warning" you about and it happens to be a service run by windo$e anyway, there a chance it`s still going to be running when you reinstall.

NOD32 is not the best out there, Kaspersky is better tbh. You can get it free from here with aol branding (doesn't have bloat and is the full engine).
