Virtual private network not working

Me and my mate are trying to set one up...it gets to verifying username and password, waits a bit then says.."Disconnected - Error 628 - The connection was terminated by the remote computer before it could be completed".

We have turned our firewalls off (software and router) still no luck.

This is where it gets weird, i tried pvs approach but it took too long (rewriting config etc.) so i tried hamachi. As far as doing what its supposed to, it works but it froze my pc up within 5 minutes of booting regardless whether the program was open or not forcing me to restart using the button not a soft reboot!!!

This occured 5 times in a row with it installed, stopping anything i was doin at the time.

I cant find any other occurances of this happening Any ideas why this happening? My mates have it and have no problems

Have you tried Openvpn?

Did and it didnt seem to work - got an earlier version of hamachi - doesnt crash
