Microsoft have recently released Virtual PC absolutely free.

You can download it HERE.

Someone download it and see how it stacks up to VMware.

Lol no. It allows you to run other operating systems from within Windows by creating a virtual environment that acts just the same as an ordinary PC.

Yeah. Its great for testing an operating system out - but not for day to day use tbh.

best way to try linux mate is with a live cd, not through virtual pc :/

i've used virtual pc for a while now, it's pretty good. I like the fact you can do a "save state" and it will save the current position of the OS. Just press "restore" and you back into your OS with in 5 seconds.

It does run any os and you can specify things such as how much RAM it will use etc.
