Seagate Pulls out perpendicular recording in 3.5" form

It delivers an industry-leading Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) reliability rating of 1.4 million hours at full duty cycle.

Wow, impressive HDD specs!!! Man they are really cramming the data on 'em now, the only thing is I wonder what the premium will be for owning one or more of those babies. Perhaps a little out of my price range I think:(

not if you got a BIG wallet ;)

the 300gb hitachi 10k rpm comes in at 700£ over here so dont even want to imagine where the seagate comes at.

Hehe, a big wallet I don't have at the moment... Jim knows where I'm coming from now ;) I would so love to have the cash to splash on these kinds of HDD's, but the wife would remove certain 'valued' parts of my anatomy quicker than you could say 'Seagate Cheetah's are 1337'

lmao i understand your wife ;)

but to be honest, a couple of sata in raid0 would do a good work too much cheaper.
