Video card opinion.

After X-mas I'm may get a new Gfx for the new UT07 and some other games. Would it be better to get a new card or just wait till DX10 and get a DX10 card?

I'm either looking at the 7600GT or the 7900Gt. So about around $250 or less.

Most likely the card i posted. A 6600gt. What is the price of Vista and a DX10 card? How long will it be till the 7600GT will be outdated? I'll be getting some time after x-mas when i get the money.

DX10 cards shouldn't be too long mate - November is being bandied about...so it's deffo worth a wait

Also if you wait for DX10 you can probably get a smokin deal on a current generation card.

I don't think anyone knows what you will be able to get in a DX10 cardfor $300, but I am sure it will outperform what you can get today for the same money. I don't know about Vista, sorry.

Vista RC2 does not support DX10, otherwise there would be a big uprise right now.

I didn't think that it would because if it did you could just wait and get DX10 and not have to pay for Vista.

I dunno if it will be "necessary" but games will start being fully supportive with DX10 fairly soon. If you only wanna play CSS then you won't be very bothered.

A 7600GT is a great little card to get, but DX10 cards will be expensive when they first come out.

If you're not going to be an early adopter then get a decent 7600GT or a 7900GT or even an X1900GT - you'll be pretty damn happy
