VIA Launches New Ultra-low power CPU

Via have launched a new 90nm CPU that only consumes 0.1w of power.

This is aimed at the SFF/Portable market mostly, but seeing as this is a technology thread, I thought I'd post it here!

The tiny little chip is only 84mm squared and will run at 2.0GHz (800MHz front side bus).

Anyway, looks like Intel and AMD should be looking to replicate this kind of power consumption in their notebook CPU's!!

Very nice, I have to hand it to VIA for leading the way in low power cpu's etc.

...and then beat the crap outta them for making such shite chipsets...

(but i've heard they've got better recently - i just used to curse their kt133 etc chipsets)

KT133's were fucking horrible, and I'm still not impressed with ANY of of A64 chipsets, they all suck mad wang.

20w under load, but I still wanna see them try 0.1w lol

thats the fing 20 watt under load for a 2GHZ via chip with little cache or 21.5 watts for a PM @ 2GHZ with 2 MB cache is 21.5 watts under load
