veiws on this router and switch

well i just wanted your veiws on this router and switch before i buy anything. i dont want to buy this and then find out that there was some better for the same money or cheap as this has happend a few time

The router is pretty good, its got everything you would need from a router today. I found it £5 cheaper from Currys with free delivery:

Also the switch is very good, im using one right now, also used it when doing my CIsco course and its one of the best, if not the best switches of its type you can buy. The delivery charge of the switch alone will be £9.59 bring the cost to £56.13 if you were to buy from Scan.

You could buy it from Play.com, its £48.99 from them and includes free delivery.

The only problem with ordering stuff from Play, is that if it goes wrong after 28 days they won't deal with the return - they will fob you off and tell you that you have to deal with the manufacturer direct. I won't buy any electrical items from them now I know this.

thansk for the info and pointing out currys have the router as i have member of family that work their so i maybe able to get a bit more of a discount lol

I've expierienced problems with that particular switch concerning links speeds and autonegotiation in interaction with various NIC chipsets and other switches as well. apart from that it's a really nice piece of hardware. very solid and well built.

If you've got some spare $ you may want to consider a smart-managed switch such as the GS108E (limited management) or GS108T (full smart management). You'll then be able to set link speeds manually on the switch rather than on your pc, should you expierience problems. An alternative to the GS108T - also a little cheaper - could be Cisco SG200-08 (former linksys model).

Why do you need the switch?

Also I am not a big fan of Netgear Routers, i prefer my D-link Xtreme.
