UT3 - Coming in November!

I have never really got into any UT games, I remember going round a mates once and he was well into UT 2004 but I always found it repetitive and boring.

I will give this one a go though :)

Kill the non-believer! :o

I like UT and think the same of CSS :)

All games get a little dull if you play em too much (I do have a very short attention span tho

This seems to be very fast paced and fun, which seems as tho it would be hardly boring. Now a game like AA is slow and boring after awhile lol

I remember when Unreal was first released, the intro screen was set on a loop at a computer shop where my mate used to work. The graphics looked like nothing i'd ever seen before. A week later I went back to my mates shop, bought an Athlon chip, 2x Voodoo2's and a copy of Unreal. I played that game and every other version of Unreal and Unreal Tournament religiously for years until i finally got dragged off to CSS for a while.

If UT3 follows in the footsteps of the previous unreal's I'm afraid CSS is going to be taking the back seat for some time :p

Very kind of you sir :) I'm half tempted to upgrade to quad core just so I can use my E6700 as part of a new UT3 server.

I agree :)

Unreal was pretty mental, the strobe effects etc were quite cool. I remember going to quakecon and the wireplay cc meeting at the playing fields in London around that time and everyone was playing quake2 and unreal :)

Unreal a year or so after it was released on a good spec'd system rocked tbh :D

I found the Unreal Tournament series of games a bit easy tho :( they are excellent for DM etc, just a shame about being able to fire 3xhoming rockets at the same time etc.

I think it would be excellent if someone re-made quakeworld or quake2 on a good new game engine, Just for nostalgia.

All this talk of the old days is making me scour ebay

So far I've added 2x Voodoo2's and a MSI mobo with a 600mhz P3 chip and 128mb of ram on it to my watch list....Pretty much the system that had my friends at college drooling (the 600mhz P3 cost me just under £600 on day of release ).

Dare I build a nostalgia rig?

Anyone know if UT3 will benifit form SLI/crossfire?

All games will in a way.

Some more than others.. I would say UT3 will work best on SLI..

Seeing as Epic love Nvidia. ;)

Sounds like a good cheap project to me Jimbo, go for it

Yeah most of it is dirt cheap. mobo, mem, cpu, 2x voodoo2's comes to under £50. Then its just a psu (shall i chuck a 1kw in there :p), case and hdd.
