my usb header had the wires arranged

black, red, green, white

according to the manual it should be

red, white, green, black

I can't make a connection either way.

can anyone help?

Fear not! IIRC the black on the cable should match up to the USB pin out...ie...ground matches to ground. If ya got your mobo handbook, it should show ya the pin orientation, and ya can work it out from there :)

EDIT: Or...failing that...just try the USB header the other way around...nothing will get hurt if ya mess it up first time, the computer just wont see the control board properly

it just doesn't seem to be having it

on the board (dfi nf4 ut) the pins are key, ground, +data, -data, vcc so I rewired the header to black , green, white, red with red going to vcc but no joy

:o Ya shouldnt have to rewire the header. Everythings connected fine at the control board..the cables just using the wrong colours
