is it possible to connect a normal usb 3.0 case frontpanel with such a connector:

to one of the new 10Gbps internal USB 3.1 connectors:

there are millions of cases with build in USB frontpanles who can´t make use of this connector.

you could maybe buy a frontpanel with a fitting cable.
but i have no room for an extra panel and my case already has a panel.

it doesn thave to be 10Gbps, i would be fine when the adapter offers USB 3.0 speeds.

has someone build such an adapter?

Doubtful. You could always get a USB hub and an extension so you can connect from the rear to the front

yeah but that would still mean this connector is wasted.

i use nanoxia deep silence 6 cases and they have 6 USB ports on the frontpanel.
i have 3 of them connected to an old common usb 3 connector on the mainboard.
but i would like to make use of this port to connect the other 3.
it´s there and it´s USB. it should be no big problem to make an adapter.

i mean they make USB / ethernet adapters. :)

and given the amount of cases who can´t connect to this new port, i guess there is a market for it.

Not a large market.

Honestly it's not wasted. Those are a pain in the *** to route anyway. It's kinda like saying the HD Audio connector is important... Hardly anyone uses it anymore if they are building a dedicated rig most people use USB. Just my opinion.

But sure you might waste that connector but you would at least still gain more with a HUB. You also should not expect one anytime soon. Few boards and fewer cases even have the Type C connector. It's going to take a while for adoption to pick up.

i did a more intensive search for a solution today.
but all i found are tons of questions how to do it.
so i would say a lot of people want to connect this port to their existing case USB ports.

there are people who use two cables to get it to mini USB (for watercooler) or normal USB.
but i need one to 20 pin female.

there are such cables:

but i found none with a female connector yet. :(

all i could do is: USB 3.1 Gen2 to USB C cable + USB C to 20 pin male cable + 20 pin female to 20 pin female USB extention cable. :)
