Hey guys,

I'm looking forward to Black Friday deals (if any) on a new mobo and cpu. Since i'm upgrading from bulldozer, i thought i should go with ivy bridge... not sure yet whether or not i want the 3570k or 3770k. i game and lightly render, so either won't bother me much, so leaning on 3570k a bit more.
though, mainly, i'm having issues with picking out a mobo.
i was looking at the z77a-gd65 mobo as a possible candidate, but i'm not familiar with alot of the z77 overclocking capabilities, especially since i haven't messed with msi boards (or anything other than asus) . so could any one offer a better board around the same price point? or just stick with this one?

Thanks :)

I'm in the same position =D but if I were you I would look at the MSIm power z77 board its absolutely beautiful and it has many good features. Its definitely the one I'm going with. =D

Go with any board, I would vote for GA-Z77X-D3H, can be had for £96 pounds from well known retailer in today only deals. Has everything you need, looks cool. Save yourself some cash!

Yea the z77 range is almost entirely solid. The D3h that J0s3e mentioned is decent enough and will get you 4.5ish in reasonable fashion. There are a couple of ones I'd avoid though (like the msi z77g41 and 43 which are too stripped back).

Decide on a colour scheme and we'll double check your choice.

I've got a GD65 and it is a great mobo. I had the GD55 before this and noticed no difference when I upgraded. Several people here have the G45 and report the same performance...

Sorry for being ignorant to the front page TTL!
Anyway, those all look awesome. I'll look at the prices on those days and if i can spend just a tiny bit more for the next best. :)
Thanks all :)
