Upgrading from a SiS 650_651_M650_M652_740 graphics card

I'm new to graphic cards and need some help on upgrading my current one, an SiS 650_651_M650_M652_740. Like I just stated, I don't know what I'm doing here and need to know if my card is an ATI, NVIDIA etc. (hence I've posted in the "Others" section) What I do know is that this card is relatively old.

From what I saw on the DirectX Diagnostic Tool, my card is 32MB and it runs at. The motherboard I have is an ECS M841LR (American Megatrends).

What I would like to know is which graphics cards I can buy for this. I'm looking for something over 128MB.

By the way, I'm on an XP Pro SP2 ... I had to remove the theme in order to make my low-end computer run After Effects (although it still runs pretty badly, which is why I'm getting a new video card.)

Yup I'm going to recommend an upgrade as well. Trying to put a better video card with that setup (which is going to be hard to find one that meets your specs that actually is half decent for a PCI based card) it's going to be severely bottlenecked by the PCI bus and the rest of your components.

Time for a PC upgrade mate. You can build a decent A64 rig right now for $400-500.

Tbh id go for a Celery 420/30. Single core conroes, they're only £27. Somthing like an ABit IB9 (£60) and a vaule set of PC6400 (say £70). Then an 8600GT (Say £100).
