Upgrading Advice, Please Help

Hi, This is my current Rig followed by parts I'm upgrading:

Case: NZXT Phantom

PSU: ADATA HM-850

MOBO: msi P55A Fuzion

CPU: Intel core i5 650 --> Intel core i5 760

Cooler: Stock --> Noctua NH-C14

GPU: msi R5870 Eyefinity 6 --> EVGA GTX 580 SC

RAM: Kingston Kingston 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3-1600MHz --> 8GB; should i use the same brand at the same 1600Mhz or does any brand works

- Is this a good upgrade? how many fps should will this upgrade give at games like (crysis, the witcher 2, BF3)

-I have a "hydra lucidlogix" MOBO, is it a good idea to use 5870 & gtx 580 in this rig or sell the 5870 and use only gtx 580

- for SLI in the future, will the PSU above be sufficient

- Is the CPU good for gaming, does it overclock well when using the C14

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Sorry this post is not very clear which is why you probably have not received any replies, what kit is it that you currently have and what kit are you planning on upgrading too?

Hi,

Sorry this post is not very clear which is why you probably have not received any replies, what kit is it that you currently have and what kit are you planning on upgrading too?

have:

i5 650

msi R5870 eyefinity 6 2gb

stock cooler

4gb ram

upgrading:

i5 760

noctua nh-c14

evga gtx 580

8gb ram

The upgrade to the 580 in itself should give you a massive increase. 40+ fps at 1920 x 1080/1200 on max settings on most games. I don't know much about how the CPU will affect performance, but I'm guessing it won't be that significant.

I will let the more experienced members explain further.

Well the CPU upgrade should give a reasonable increase in frame rates. The Noctua C14 will give sufficient and quiet cooling for it, so no problems there.

The biggest increase will be from the GTX580. As for whether or not you should sell the 5870, you should probably try out to see if you can get any performance games. These things can cause you to get lower FPS, but I'm not 100% what will happen if you mix those two up so try it out before selling it.

For the RAM, G.Skill, Corsair, Kingston and Mushkin are all good choices.
