Hello,

I'm upgrading from my galaxy 670 to a EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Ti Superclocked and was wondering if i should follow a "best practice" for removing/uninstalling my current driver set before i plug in my 780 ti? I'm just looking to have as clean as install as I can.

Also, I did have GeForce experience installed but I've recently uninstalled it due to a memory leak.

Thanks for the tips! :)

Yeah you should, while not 100% necessary in most cases it is always best to start clean with new components when it comes to drivers.

Best to be safe than sorry

Depends how old your drivers are really. I switch between cards every now and again and don't have any problems with the same drivers. I've recently thrown my old gtx 260 back in as I'm playing a lot of indie games and don't need the power of the 480 and didn't uninstall any drivers.

Its already been said but it is not absolutely necesary. I have switched graphics cards multiple times and since NVIDIA runs unified drivers for the most part it doesn't make a diference. Even if it doesn't work it is not a big deal to uninstall/reinstall the driver mid process. That being said it is always a good idea to start clean and you know what they say: If you have to ask if you should follow best practices .... you probably should do it.

Yeah, its not "necessary" but I still always do it for no other reason than peace of mind. All I do really is just run Driver Sweeper in safe mode and then install the new drivers when I boot back up.

So yeah, its not required in this day and age but it doesnt take that long and really helps if youre OCD like me and it would constantly bug you. HAHA
