Upgrading 3450

Righto, need some advice:

Mates birthday coming up, and being a sad geek I am continuing my tradition of buying them PC components (RAM last christmas!)

Currently rocking the 3450 which is, well... not great.

Was looking to spend £30ish for a PC that will mainly play CSS, WoW and a few others, nothing taxing but the 3450 certainly is the weak link in the Core2Duo box.

Any suggestions?

Been eyeing up scan.co.uk and they have an 4650 for £38 which seems good if verging on too much dosh.

I have used the 4670 for 6 months myself and liked it alot, but it retails for too much, I am not "that" good a friend :D

Another note, no PCI-e connector and a fairly weedy PSU, so <mid-range only sadly.

Cheers d00ds

p.s. hopefully I can nab the 3450 out of the old machine and throw in in my Mums, always wanted to try that Hybrid XFire, and my Mums media PC is rocking a HD3200

Some reason my post is different to what I typed.

What I meant was, what u found there for £38 looks a good price - I can only see a HD4350 for about the same.

I can get a second hand 7600GT for a tenner, a 8400G-something, S? for a fiver, and a 8600GT for £15ish... these are tempting, as £40 is a fair chunk, my bank balance is currently under that, and its 2 weeks to pay day...

but again rast! it looks more or less same spec as 8600gt 0c'd slightly just with the advantage of hdmi!

I can't find anything but 8400(s) for sale at the places I frequent.

But he is looking to spend ~£40 on an upgrade to a 3450. He's ok with the idea of a 220, but felt £60 (which is what most of them cost) was too much - however I found a fugly one for £41.

Where's the beef :p
