Hey just a quickie, I have 4GB XMS 2 4-4-4-12.

My board is ASUS P5Q PRO, what is the best RAM I can get for this board?

The price is no problem, anything that will show the biggest improvement.

Thanks in advanced.

hmm just some questions does it accept ddr3? (i dont know much about this mobo) a dominator series with lots of mhz can do the trick i think, if it accepts ddr3 maybe a 1866mhz dominator PC15000 ram

I doubt there's any real improvement to be made on top of what you have... Just see what Apps you have and work out if you need anymore... tell us the rest of your specs and we might be able to offer you other suggestions...

Here is a quote from their site.

The motherboard supports DDR2 memory that features data transfer rates of 1200/1066/800/667 MHz to meet the higher bandwidth requirements of the latest operation system, 3D graphics, multimedia, and Internet applications. The dual-channel DDR2 architecture doubles the bandwidth of your system memory to boost system performance, eliminating bottlenecks with peak bandwidths of up to 19.2GB/s.

Specs

Q6600 @ 3ghz

4GB XMS 2 4-4-4-12

Asus P5Q-PRO

OCZ 750w PSU

Noctua NH-U12P

500GB Samsung HDD

hmm i think your memory already good then, the max you could get is a ddr2 memory with 1066mhz and OC it to get 1200mhz, it would be maxed out for your mobo :)

Yeah I was thinking that also, but surely there must be better RAM than this, it was only like £60 for 4GB.

ddr2 is pretty cheap nowadays, (sadly were i live they arent lol) maybe a dominator from corsair, that is the top of the line series from corsair, quality cant be questioned :D

woops i missed that :D ok well to be honest with you your PC looks pushed near to the max (although i've seen a Q6600 overclocked to 3.6Ghz stabley...:o) theres not a lot more you can do expect add more ram (doubt you need it though), add a Velicoiraptor (for fun more then anything else) and i'm not too sure what GPU you have but add a GTX295 (although i hate dual-die GPUz)... thats my two cents not worth much but what can i say?

LOL if you found a way to SLI a ATI card let me know... you mean CrossFire :p but the HD4870 is a very respectable card was going to get it but when a trustworthy source told me that the new HD4900 series is coming very soon with a new 40nm die well i'm going to wait for that :yumyum:

Ha sorry, I was speaking about ATI and NVIDIA on another forum, I posted Crossfire on Nvidia LOL >.<.

what speed is your RAM? You only appear to have stated timings. If it is PC8500 you are after, tehn it is going cheap these days, and a nice boost over PC6400 (8.5gb bandwidth against 6.4)
