Upgrade time?

Hey guys -

So I have two ATI 4890s set up in x-fire in my system, and I am happy with the quality they deliver (to say the least).

I was a little frustrated that I could not water cool them when I got them as I realised they weren't reference cards, but they still oc' averagely well.

Was wondering if it would be worth the money for an upgrade? - On eBay I could probably get just over £250 for them, and that would put me in the market for a ATI 5850. I was hoping that there would be some bargains lying around with the release of the Fermi cards, but I can't seem to find any.

Thanks.

hmmm

they're just a little bit too expensive at the moment -

what about 5770s in Xfire? I saw a OC3D review on those, and they seemed to perform well. Furthermore they could probably end up cheaper than what I could sell two 4890s for.

Selling yours and upgrading should really mean you add money to it fella, if you dont have the money stay where you are till you have the money and can afford a decent upgrade. I stand firm and say get a 5870.

Buy an Asus 5850....they can OC a nice bit...only problem is right now that its on backorder for most of canada, im still waiting on mine, i ordered it weeks ago. If you wanna save a bit and are comfortable with Ocing vid cards, i would def buy the Asus 5850 and oc to a 5870. the 5850 is the best bang for your buck atm, unless you wanna wait another month or so, you will probably see a drop in alot of prices with the 5850's and 70's. Personally I don't think the 5870 is worth the extra 5-10 frames for the $100+ cdn.
