Upgrade: Amd to Intel

ohh no i am back

I currently have the system bellow i am planning to go over to Intel, so i have decided to get your opinions on what i should buy with my £400

Cpu: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (2.4GHz 1066MHz) £171.57

Ram: OCZ 2GB Kit(2x1GB) DDR2 800MHz PC2 6400 £90

Mobo: ???

i don't mind if it costs slightly more or less

One thing I wish I did do is get a low end dual core which I could overclock and spend the excess money on the GPU, rahter then get a quad like I did. most people will tell you quad is future proff but ti wont ever make up the difference that a GPU could.

Hey,

I posted an interesting article in the news section ~2 weeks ago - 'the future in more cores after all'. An overclocked q6600 beat an overclocked e6850 in pretty much everything.

In games that could support all cres (eg future games - lost planet in the eg) th q6600 slaughtered the 6850...

Get a p35 based mobo - abit ip35 pro is ~120
