Upgrade advice

Depending on motherboard yes. Which motheroard do you have? In my bios it's located in "integrated peripherals".. you may or may not have this.
 
If you have the manual for the motherboard, have a look in the section regarding the bios. It should detail where things live within the menus.

Another thing to check is which drive windows decided to put the boot config on. More than once I've seen it put it on a mechanical drive rather than the ssd. Right clicking my computer and going manage gives you access to disk management where it will show you your drives and the partitions that are on them. There should be labels on them under the drive letter/name like boot, system, crash dump etc. The drive with boot on it needs to be the one at the top of the boot order list in the bios. (Even if it isn't the drive windows is installed on)
 
ok think i have sorted the issue, now i wish to upgrade my system, i have:

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz
MoBo: MSI X38 Platnium
GPU: GeForce GTX 480
Ram: 6GB Ram
Op: Win8 Pro
PSU: OCZ ZS Series 750W
SSD: 120GB OCZ Vertex Plus R2
HDD: 160GB
22x Duel Layer DVD+- R/RW Sata

its for gaming and am starting to struggle fps wise so i need and upgrade. cant afford a total rebuild so around the £200 ish mark any ideas guys or is it not worth it
