Upgrade a gpu or put another in SLI?

I have Geforce 560Ti 2Gb card, its a good card but id like to get a little more from my card, its already pre-overclocked and i cant push it any further with out it getting to hot or unstable, it is only to be only air cooled for now.
I was thinking about upgrading to an 670 or waiting for the next gen of cards, it needs to be Nvidia, due to my monitor.

Any suggestions?

Personally i dont like sli or xfire. It might be the cheapest way to add a second crad, but you will have more noise, a MUCH higher power cunsumption and of course more heat in your case.

I'm in agreement with Roooker. The old Nvidia Graphics cards do require a lot of power, so if you was to go SLI you'd may have to upgrade your PSU as well depending on what you have.

If I was you I'd just go with a 2GB GTX 670, or if funds are limited or simply want to save a little, a 660 Ti is still fantastic.

The next gen Nvidia GPU's are scheduled to arrive after Haswell, and considering the huge jump in Technology I imagine the new series GPU's will probably be rather expensive.

Edit: I didn't see what you wrote there, what about the GTX 680 don't you see the point in?

The 680 is a bit pointless compared to a 670. With a small OC it will match the 680 and it is a fair bit cheaper.
Well in some ways but I wouldn't say it's pointless.. And although you may be correct, that can surely be said for most of Nvidia's GPU's then. For example, a little OC and a 660 Ti would match the performance of a stock 670. (I'm assuming a little here, I don't own either(: ) So going by that, apart from the higher Memory Bit, why would anyone spend that extra £60 on a 670.

But on a whole I agree with you. That little extra performance isn't worthy of the extra £80's it costs.

im going to get a 660ti EVGA FTW sig, looks good performs good enough for me then later for cad works ill buy a second for sli with some new fans and a PSU to help with the power better with braided cables to complete my build for now :)

If you are thinking of SLI then I'd just pick up some regular 660s and go SLI right from the start.

In SLI the more expensive Ti versions will be hitting limits in VRAM and bandwidth meaning that you get minimal gains from the extra power/cash.
