Uninstalling Drivers

I'm currently using CAT 10.7 but it seems to be very unstable for me. With the old nvidia ones I could just install the old on over the top and it would be fine, but these don't seem to do that. How to I go about uninstalling and going back to 10.6?

Thats what I usually do just uninstall and install newer ones, but since he's going back to a older version safest bet is he removes every single bit of the 10.7 drivers.

Yeah it didn't work, 10.4 would install but wouldnt reboot itself and the computer wouldnt recognise it was installed, same with 10.6. Had to install 10.7 again.

You can try Revo Uninstaller in advanced mode. It'll remove all reggy entries and anything associated. I don't know if it really rips all the crud out like DS does, but it is normal mode capable where as DS wants to use safe mode.

Aa i see, always good to learn from day to day on my old day

What happened to, just uninstal old drivers then instal new drivers ?

i have never in my life used a cleaner and i never had a single problem...

It's more down to Win 7 than anything else. With other older versions of Windows it would load a simple video driver. However Win7 wants you to immediately see Aero and a res to match, so it tries its hardest to find a driver capable of doing that. It also downloads one if it wants to ETC.

Run driver sweeper in safe mode, then reboot, disconnecting the network cable, which stops it from downloading a new driver.

I'd only use the sweeper if you have issues with installation or un-installation.

99% of the time, doing a regular un-install through Windows is perfectly fine. Un-install, restart, install, then restart. Done. Or leave out the first restart.
