Uh oh... Computer problems strike again

Good to hear you're sorted and up-n-running again Frag, there's nothing worse than the elusive problem. I believe that Nick is correct with the 5 year replacement warranty on WD HDD's :)

Or Matt - whoever ;)

Everything was good last night until I tried to go and overclock my vid cards and noticed that I didn't have my ForceWare panel in the advanced settings. So I reinstalled the ForceWare drivers and it just told me at the end of the installation that no changes had been made. After that I ran Driver Cleaner Pro and wiped the nV drivers completely to start afresh only to find that DCP foobared everything... I still can't get the ForceWare drivers installed and in the device manager it shows both of my cards with errors and upon opening the hardware profiles for them it says something to the effect of the drivers are corrupt in the registry blah blah. Well I can't seem to find a way to completely wipe em, it won't let me delete the hardware profiles either, pops up with the error that says the cards are needed for windows startup so it can't delete the profile.

Any ideas? 800x600 on a 30" is teh suck.

Have you tried installing new RAM then re-installing OS??

I think u missed the majority of the thread mate, lol.

RAM is perfect and OS is running just fine on new hard drive. I am now having a vid card driver problem after fiddling with driver cleaner :(

I don't see anything in the logs that will help me pv, unless I'm looking at the wrong thing.

I haven't missed the hole thread its just well worth the trying. Had a very similar problem with me Ballistix where it screwed a HDD. Put in new HDD, ran fine for a day then fecked up again. But idk I think its worth a try

well this new problem isn't a random occurrence, its driver cleaners fault cuz it goobered up the registry trying to wipe the nv drivers. it may also be because I am running x64 since it was the only disc I could dig up out ofall of my moving boxes. I think the registry paths might be diff for the 64 bit forceware drivers or something.

I suppose ill just reformat again tonight when I get home from work...

Frag, give it up and try swapping the RAM. For christ sakes it takes two seconds. When I was talking to you, you ran ONE pass of Memtest. That wont tell you diddly.

Rofl just swapped RAM and it's running the exact same way... Ye who thought it was the CPU

This is all driver cleaners fault... GRRRR

LOL. I've never had problem's liek this. I think it's more user error ;).

Good luck Frag, just take a deep breath. Smoke a cig or something.
