Two Internet Connections Finally

In an effort to get more upload I finally got my second internet connection today at the shop. It took some time to get them to do it, as typically they don't run 2 seperate connections, but an engineer finally came out and approved it and provided a spot for me to hook into.

Fastest available around here is 45/6. I envy some of you guys with your connections in the hundreds both up and down!

The server running pFsense in the server rack is load balancing and proving failover between the two connections so if one craps out, the other one will take over, and vise versa. And well load balancing that balances data equally over both connections, and doubles my speed.

i guess it costs you a fortune :)

One may think that, but actually it's only $10 more per month then I was paying! I got both of them marked down a lot. The primary one is a little more expensive as I have a block of 16 static IP addresses along with it.

I'd be happy with your 45/6 mate, I'm on 17 down and 0.7 up, but, they're in the process of laying down the fibre lines, and the box on the end of my street went up 3 days ago, so won't be long now. If it wasn't for NATO being held 6 miles up the road it would be on, but any roadworks of any kind within a 10 mile radius of the Celtic manor, had to stop for 2 months before, and 1 month after. Bloody world leaders and their warmongering.

Where do you live?I have a horrible feeling you may be getting ripped due to a 70-80's thing.

South Wales mate. 17 up is actually pretty good for round here, and the only way for the up to be above 1 is to go over on to fibre.

I hate you, and to get anything like that in AU I would have to fork out $99 for bonding and the extra $70 for the connection itself.
